Festivals in Phuket are exciting, sometimes bizarre spectacles - certainly never bland. The island's most distinctive event is the annual Vegetarian Festival featuring processions of mediums performing shocking acts of self-mortification as a test of faith. This bazaar of the bizarre is held annually over 9 days in the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar.

-Songkran festival, the festival of ‘water-throwing' is the most celebrated of all Thai festivals. Celebrated all over the country The festival is celebrated every year on April the 13 th in Phuket and takes only one day and is a big moment of joy and amusement.Songkran originally a Sanskrit word remembers us anyway that it is in the first place a religious celebration because the meaning is start of a new solar year. It's now called simply New Year. The day before the festival is also called ‘the public Springtime cleansing day'. The house wives get rid of all old domestic items they don't use anymore and they burn it, This way the landlord is saved against the ‘bad eye'.

-Loy Kratong Festival:
Full Moon Day or Wan Loy Kratong is held on full moon night each November, Thai people prepare small round boats or kratong made from the trunk of a banana tree and decorated with flowers, candles and incense. These are set to float upon the water - rivers, canals, ponds, and the sea - and prayers are uttered so that the krathong will float away, taking all bad spirits and sins along with it.

Deep 10 to 30 meters

Visibility 15 to 25 meters

Courant minimal to strong

Suitable for all divers, large pinnacle with small wreck off the north east end. Good hard and soft corals. Marine life includes angel and butterfly, parrot, puffer, triggerfish. Larger visitor can include manta rays.

-Phuket King Cruiser :

Deep 10 to 32 meters

Visibility 5 to 25 meters

Courant can be strong

Interesting artificial reef, penetration not recommended. Numerous species of invertebrates and schools of juvenile’s fish.

-Phuket Shark Point :

Deep 10 to27 meters

Visibility 5 to 20 meters

Courant can be strong

Series of hard and soft corals blanketing rocky moulds and boulders. Leopards shark, angel and butterfly fish, morays. Pipefish, snappers, fusiliers and a wealth of invertebrate including good selection of cowrie’s shells.

-Phuket Anemone Reef :

Deep 10 to27 meters

Visibility 5 to 15 meters

Courant can weak to strong

Submerged pinnacles home to good diversity of marine life. Large gorgonian sea fans. As name implies sea anemones. Also lion fish, morays and school of medium size of pelagic.

-Phuket Similian Island :

Deep 5 to 40 meters

Visibility 15 to 30 meters

Courant moderate to strong

The dive sites are in a national park, large variety of coral and fish. World well know dive site.

- Phuket Richelieu Rock :

Deep 5 to 30 meters

Visibility 20 to 30 meters

Courant moderate to rage

Submerged rock reasonably predictable for whale shark but guaranteed for schooling pelagic. Tons of reef life in all colors and size. Photographer’s paradise.
